Highly concentrated saffron extract is a recognised and proven ingredient for treating typical side effects of the menopause. The positive effect and safety were documented impressively in several prospective, randomised, double-blind and placebo-controlled studies.
The mood-boosting effect of the SAFREX ingredient
Highly concentrated saffron extract has a mood-boosting effect, balances out nervousness and internal restlessness, relieves tension, alleviates anxiety and improves sleep, all while being easy to tolerate.
Like modern antidepressants, highly concentrated saffron extract acts as a reabsorption inhibitor of the psychically active neurotransmitters dopamine, serotonin and noradrenaline, which play a key role in depressive disorders. In a clinical comparative study, the highly concentrated saffron extract showed a similar effect to common prescriptive antidepressants, but without their side-effects.
Clinically proven effectiveness
Five clinical studies have proven the mood-boosting effect of the highly concentrated saffron extract SAFREX. The studies showed the saffron extract to be effective against 6 menopausal symptoms. The highly concentrated saffron extract is also proven to reduce sleeplessness by around 25% and improve sleep quality by around 20%. 4.
