Healthy vaginal flora is crucial for women as it acts as a protective barrier against harmful germs. The presence of billions of diverse, beneficial lactobacilli – also known as lactic acid bacteria – ensures an acidic pH in the vagina that prevents pathogenic bacteria and fungi from growing.

However, the delicate balance of vaginal flora can easily be disturbed. Various factors such as stress, a weakened immune system, the use of medication such as antibiotics, excessive intimate hygiene or hormonal changes (for instance due to hormonal contraceptives, or during pregnancy or menopause) can lead to these vital lactobacilli being reduced and no longer capable of adequately fulfilling their protective function. This allows harmful, pathogenic bacteria (such as Escherichia coli or Gardnerella vaginalis) or fungi such as Candida albicans to multiply and cause an imbalance in vaginal flora – also known as dysbiosis.

This can lead to unpleasant symptoms in the intimate region, such as itching, burning, redness or a discharge, ranging in colour from greyish-white to yellowish, that has an unpleasant odour. Infections with harmful microorganisms are often treated using antibiotics – however, this can kill not only the harmful germs, but also the remaining beneficial lactobacilli. Hence it is not surprising that many women struggle with persistent problems that affect their quality of life.

menoelle^® OVULA med Lacto Pro contains three synergistically coordinated components that help protect the vaginal mucosa from pathogenic germs: Tyndallised lactic acid bacteria, lactic acid and the prebiotic galactooligosaccharides (GOS).

Tyndallised lactic acid bacteria can support the body’s endogenous production of beneficial lactic acid bacteria, which play an important role in natural vaginal acid resistance against unwanted pathogens.

Lactic acid can lower the vaginal pH quickly and naturally. An acidified vaginal environment directly improves the natural vaginal acid resistance and at the same time creates more favourable conditions for the beneficial lactic acid bacteria.

Galactooligosaccharides (GOS) are said to have a dual effect in the vaginal environment. GOS can form a film over the vaginal mucosa that can bind moisture and improve the microbial barrier. GOS are also a selective nutrient for beneficial lactic acid bacteria and can therefore help promote its growth.

The recommended dosage of menoelle^® OVULA med Lacto Pro is:

Insert 1 ovule into the vagina daily – preferably in the evening before going to bed.

The recommended dosage and duration of application must not be exceeded without medical advice.

For best results, we recommended inserting 1 menoelle^® OVULA med Lacto Pro suppository into the vagina before going to bed for 10 consecutive days.

The treatment can be repeated if necessary or if medically indicated.

The following procedure is recommended for the hygienic and proper use of vaginal suppositories:

1. Wash your intimate area thoroughly.
2. Wash your hands thoroughly before removing the strip.
3. Remove a single unit from the strip, taking care not to damage the remaining units.
4. Remove the suppository from the blister pack.
5. Carefully insert the suppository as deep as possible into the vagina to prevent it slipping out accidentally.

If you are pregnant or taking other medication at the same time, the use of menoelle^® OVULA med Lacto Pro should be clarified through medical advice beforehand.

Warnings:

menoelle^® OVULA med Lacto Pro is intended for vaginal use. Not for oral consumption. Do not use if you have heightened sensitivity to one or more of the ingredients. In case of eye contact, rinse the eyes thoroughly with water.

Not to be used for children. Keep out of sight and reach of children under 3 to prevent accidental consumption.

Precautions of use:

The use of products for external application, especially over a longer period of time, can lead to sensitisation symptoms. In this case, you should discontinue the treatment and consult a doctor. Under normal conditions of use, there are no known cases of damage due to overdosage.

Storage conditions:

Store at room temperature and protected from direct light and heat.

Do not use the product after the expiry date indicated on the packaging or if the packaging is damaged. The expiry date refers to the intact and properly stored product.
